Using Zoom in Blackboard:

Join a Meeting as a Student

First time users must configure your account before trying to access Zoom in your Blackboard course.

Important: To configure your account, please sign into zoom.senecacollege.ca.

  1. In your course
  2. On the left menu, click Tools then click Zoom Meeting
  3. Click Launch in the Launch LTI Link window
  4. In the Zoom page
    1. Click Upcoming Meetings tab to view scheduled meetings or
    2. Click Start to join your Zoom Meeting

Schedule a Meeting as a Faculty

First time users must configure your account before trying to access Zoom in your Blackboard course.

Important: To configure your account, please sign into zoom.senecacollege.ca.

  1. In your course
  2. On the left menu, click Tools then click Zoom Meeting
  3. Click Launch in the Launch LTI Link window
  4. To schedule a New Meeting for students to join
  5. Click Schedule a New Meeting
    1. Enter a Topic
    2. Enter a Description
    3. Set a Date and Time of the meeting
    4. Set a Duration of the meeting
    5. Default Settings:
      • Meeting Options – none selected
    6. Students can join but a prompt will display Please wait for the host to start this meeting
  6. If you select Enable join before host – students can join the meeting without you starting the meeting and wait.
  7. If you have Waiting Room checked off (which is default when creating a meeting).
    1. NOTE: Everyone will be able to join and be placed under the Waiting Room and you will have to select Admit for them to join the meeting
