Microsoft Yammer Social Media Network

What is Yammer?

Yammer is an enterprise social media network that connects the faculty and staff at Seneca College. It bears resemblance to other social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, except that it's only available to Senecans. Yammer is a forum to communicate with your peers.

Why Yammer?

Senecans already have many choices for personal correspondence, such as email, telephone, and Skype for Business. However, these channels are limited to private one-to-one or one-to-many communications that are not visible to our peers. Social networks like Yammer are a form of many-to-many communication, visible and searchable by all Seneca faculty and staff.

There are many benefits to an internal social network. For one, it's the perfect medium when you have a question but aren't sure whom to ask; your peers at all campuses may contribute answers based on their expertise and read others' opinions. Conversely, if you've learned something exciting or solved a challenging problem, Yammer is the perfect medium to share your findings with your colleagues.

In essence, Yammer is your opportunity to "work out loud" for the benefit of the Seneca community.
