About the change

Are there any changes done to my account?

No, you will continue to use your Seneca account credentials (eg: Seneca username and current password) to log into i3 Portal.

What is the main change that I will first notice?

The main change is the newly designed look and feel. You will no longer see the old Quicklinks. Instead, an intuitive and user friendly navigation will help you navigate to your portal pages.

Where will I notice this change?

The interface change will affect all desktop and mobile users.

Will I have access to all My Favorites in the newly designed interface?

Yes, you will have access to all your My Favorites which have been transitioned over from the old i3 portal.

Will I be able to revert to the old view?

Once we transition to the newly designed interface, you will not be able to revert to the old Classic view.

How do I provide feedback on the new i3 Portal site?

Logging In

How do I log into the new i3 Portal?

IMPORTANT: Before you log into to the newly designed i3 Portal, you must clear your cache and cookies in ALL browsers for the first time. For instructions on how to do this, please read the next FAQ.

To log in as an Employee:

  • Go to: https://my.senecacollege.ca
  • Log in with your Seneca username and password
  • Click the Employees tab
  • Click the i3 Portal link under the i3 module
  • Log in using your Seneca username and password

To log in as an Student:

  • Go to: https://my.senecacollege.ca
  • Log in with your Seneca username and password
  • Click the Student tab
  • Click the Student Centre log in link under the Student Centre module

How do I clear browser cache?

Can I use my existing internet browser bookmarks/favorites to access i3 Portal pages?

No – we recommend that you remove all your existing browsers’ bookmarks/favorites and do not create any browser bookmarks for i3 portal pages.

Navigation

What should I see when I log into the new i3 Portal?

Employees

The new i3 Portal will default to the Employee Home page. Note: Based on your role at the College, you may have the option of other homepages from a drop-down menu (such as Manager Home, Student Home, Academic Home)

Students

The Student Centre login link will default to the Student Home page.

How do I navigate around the new i3 Portal landing page?

Every page at the top consists of a red banner and displays the following:

  • Seneca Logo
  • Homepage Title
  • Actions Toolbar

Below the red banner, all the tiles that are relevant to the homepage will display based on your role at the College

i3 Portal Navigations

What are the new icons on the i3 Portal for?

The Icons consist of the Home, Notifications, Actions List and NavBar

  • When you click the Home icon Home, it will take you back to the default Home page
  • The Notifications icon Notifications will allow the approvers (managers) to see all the items requiring attention from a single place without having to navigate around the system. When employees click the Notifications icon, they will be able to view the status of their request
  • When you click the Actions List icon Actions List, you will have the options of My Preferences, Add to Favorites and Sign Out
  • When you click the NavBar icon NavBar, you will have the options of Recent Places, My Favorites and Navigator

How do I create a Favorite inside the new i3 Portal?

To create a page as a favorite in the new i3 Portal:

  • Navigate to the page through the NavBar icon NavBar under Navigator
  • Click the Actions List icon Actions List and click on Add to Favorites
  • A window displays the default Description but you can enter a unique description for this favorite

Where can I find My Favorites in the new i3 Portal?

All your My Favorites can be located under the NavBar icon NavBar.

Where can I locate the Main Menu in the new i3 Portal?

Note that the Main Menu is referred to as Navigator which allows you to navigate through the i3 Portal system. 

To locate Navigator:

  • Click on the NavBar icon NavBaron the top right-hand corner
  • Click on Navigator and the Main Menu displays at the top

How do I Sign Out of the new i3 Portal?

To sign out:

  • Locate and click on the Actions List icon Actions List,on the top right-hand corner
  • A drop-down menu displays, click on “ Sign Out

I feel that I see fewer tiles sometimes, why is that?

If tiles seem to be missing from any of your homepages, try the following:

  • Click on the Home icon on the top right-hand side of your screen to refresh the page
  • If the missing tiles do not appear, close the browser and re-open and log back into the i3 Portal

I do not see all my homepages, why is that?

If homepages seem to be missing, try the following:

  • Click on the Home icon on the top right-hand side of your screen to refresh the page
  • If the missing homepages do not appear, sign out and sign in

I see the tiles but some or all the images are missing, why is that?
